Welcome to Stand Brave

Stand Brave is a platform dedicated to supporting and empowering parliament candidates in Auckland, New Zealand. We offer innovative solutions and creative insights to help you stand out in the crowd.

Who We Are

Stand Brave Together is more than a political party — it’s a bold new movement created by real people who’ve lived through struggle and found strength. We’re single parents, youth advocates, creatives, tradies, and change-makers who know the system needs more than a patch-up — it needs a rebuild.

We don’t wait for permission.
We build solutions.
We stand brave.

Why We Exist

The systems around us — schools, health, housing, welfare — are outdated and out of touch. They don’t reflect real life. They don’t work for struggling families, isolated communities, or those falling through the cracks.

We’re here to flip the model. Not with empty talk — but with practical, powerful solutions that waste nothing and build everything.

What We Stand For

.3 Cent Dental Care Plan

Access to dental care shouldn’t be a luxury. Our micro-payment plan allows every New Zealander to pay just .3 cents per dollar earned into a nationwide dental fund — covering basic and emergency dental for all. Visitors and tourists? They’ll need travel health insurance that includes dental — fair’s fair.

 Micro Hospitals & Mobile Clinics

We’re rethinking healthcare delivery with micro hospitals and mobile clinics — built by local apprentices and tradespeople, supported by nurses, student doctors, and retired health workers. These community hubs deliver real care to rural and urban areas alike, cutting wait times and boosting frontline services.

Micro Homes, Macro Hope

Everyone deserves a warm, safe place to live. Our waste-to-home initiative turns unused materials into warm, movable micro homes. Built by beneficiaries and students on flexi-wages, these homes provide jobs, shelter, and purpose — especially for seasonal workers, the homeless, and struggling families.

Micro Schools That Aren’t Schools

Let’s get honest: one-size-fits-all schooling doesn’t work. Our micro-schools operate outside the box — using nature, trades, creativity, and real-world projects to teach core skills. Kids learn how to build a home, grow kai, start a business, tell stories, and think for themselves.

We support:

  • Outdoor learning classrooms

  • Project-based learning linked to community needs

  • Waste-to-wealth initiatives for young entrepreneurs

  • Mentoring from elders and tradespeople

  • Flexi-certification (learn at your pace, prove it in practice)

We Believe In...

Sustainability – Use what we already have. Grow food. Fix what's broken. Rebuild together.
Innovation – No more outdated systems. Think bold. Build smarter.
Manaakitanga – Honour people, culture, and community.
Courage – We lead with truth. We act with heart. We build with grit.

1.  Build & Learn Days

“One Day, One Project, One Community”

  • Locals and volunteers come together to build something useful: a planter box garden, a food stand, a tiny home frame, or even seating for a local school.

  • Skilled tradespeople mentor youth and beneficiaries.

  • Everyone shares kai and learns something new.

2. Kai Circles

“Feed the People, Fuel the Movement”

  • Community potluck nights with a focus on sharing surplus food.

  • Includes food rescue talks, healthy budget meals workshops, and recipe cards.

  • Each gathering ends with a 15-minute community kōrero on local needs and ideas.

3. Waste-to-Wealth Workshops

“Turn Trash into Treasure Together”

  • Teach people how to upcycle fabrics, timber, or household items.

  • Partner with op shops and local tradies.

  • Bonus: Create products that could fundraise for the movement or go to families in need.

4. Stand Brave Kids Club

“Strong Roots, Brave Futures”

  • A weekly or monthly club for tamariki aged 6–12 to connect with nature, build things, grow food, or make art.

  • Builds pride, belonging, and hands-on skills early.

  • Led by parents, youth mentors, and elders.

5.  Street Talk Sessions

“We Come to You”

  • Pop-up tents in town centres or parks where locals can share concerns, ideas, or community wins.

  • Free coffee, printed info on your kaupapa, and forms to join the movement.

  • Could be run alongside local markets or sports events.

6.  Mentor a Movement

“One Adult. One Youth. One Path Forward.”

  • A network that matches skilled adults (retired tradies, business owners, artists, etc.) with youth on a benefit, at risk, or disengaged from school.

  • Can be informal — regular catch-ups, shared projects, or career advice.

  • Creates long-term intergenerational change.

7.  Alternative Education Open Days

“What If School Looked Like This?”

  • Invite whānau and educators to experience what a micro-school could look like.

  • Students display projects, cook kai, show off what they’ve built or designed.

  • A great way to push for change by showing what already works.

8.  Stories of Us – Community Art Walls

“Our Struggles. Our Strength. Our Voices.”

  • Public mural or art project capturing local voices.

  • Invite people to paint, draw, or write a short story or message of hope.

  • Celebrate lived experience and community resilience.

9.  Brave Boxes

“Care Packs Built by the Community, for the Community”

  • Volunteers and youth fill boxes with essential items: food, hygiene, socks, notes of encouragement.

  • Distribute to whānau in crisis, rough sleepers, or new mums.

  • Could be linked to local fundraisers or schools.

10. The People’s Panel

“Not Politicians. Just Us.”

From Lived Experience to Real Change: Why I Stand Brave

I wasn’t born into comfort or power — I was born into chaos, struggle, and survival. I know what it feels like to grow up in broken systems, to go without, to face things no child should ever face. I’ve lived in homes with no power, fed my kids with creative kai from near-empty cupboards, and fought like hell to break cycles that tried to define me.

But I also know what it means to rise.
Not because someone handed me a perfect plan — but because I found grit, love, and a fire that refused to go out.

I didn’t learn how to lead from textbooks or boardrooms. I learned from holding my children close when life was crumbling. I learned from showing up at school gates, job interviews, and courtrooms when my heart was breaking. I learned from listening to others — because I’ve been there too.

I care about real people. Not just the numbers on a form, or the tick boxes on some policy paper. I care about the mum trying to hold it together, the kid slipping through school, the man who wants to work but doesn’t know where to start. I care about the people the system forgot.

That’s why I created Stand Brave Together.

Because we’re not here to follow the rules of a broken system —
We’re here to build something new.

A movement that understands struggle.
A plan that includes all of us.
A vision powered by compassion, not control.
